Hello! I'm Ursula Michele Ballard, a proud member of the MyOr network of expert dietitians.
Growing up in southern California my grandmother had a garden where she grew fruits and vegetables from apricots to zucchini. I enjoyed helping my grandmother harvest produce that she prepared for the whole family. Little did I know that this sparked my love of how nutrition impacts health but also my desire to help families achieve better health. My desire continued to help others by working with pregnant individuals, infants and children. I specialized in growth disorders and infants and children requiring specialized formula to ensure milestone development. We all value the cultural meals that we grew up on or favorites that we have become accustomed to. I truly believe that all foods can fit within our daily meals. Food is a large part of our culture, and it should be celebrated! On a personal note, I have food allergies, and I am committed to helping others achieve and maintain optimal health. My approach encompasses the social determinants of health to ensure we all receive what we need to function at our very best. I am passionate about ensuring equitable access and improving nutrition is a right for everyone.
